Short video app Bolo Indya launches P2P commerce service

New Delhi, Oct 27 (IANS): Short video content platform Bolo Indya on Tuesday said it opened its peer-to-peer commerce service called Bolo Meets to a wider audience base after several months of testing with highly engaged creators.

The service is designed to offer its creator partners new earning opportunities.

"We stay committed to our vision of empowering content creators to monetise their content and follower base," Varun Saxena, Founder and CEO Bolo Indya, said in a statement.

As part of Bolo Meets, creator partners on the platform will now have an added feature to create and deliver their specialised skills-based services to their follower base.

Sessions can be facilitated either through one-to-one private video chat room, or a group video session with a maximum of 10 people in one session.

These video sessions can be availed by the users through micropayments to book the slots for their favourite creators' sessions.

The most popular categories in demand for Bolo Meets include astrology, fitness, music, dance, instruments, comedy, personal finance, relationships, and mental wellness, the company said, adding that the service is available across 24 categories.

Average ticket size for the sessions start from as low as Rs 100 for a personalised astrology service, and goes up to Rs 5,000 for someone willing to learn a language or dance.

"As we make Bolo Meets open for a wider audience, we will not only positively boost the financial independence journey of our creator partners, but we will also be empowering every Indian sitting in the remotest of location in the country to avail services, learn and grow with the creators who understand their culture, language and aspirations," Saxena said.

With this service offering, Bolo Indya expects its creator base to grow by 300 per cent by March 2021.

Over 25,000 video sessions have already been delivered in five months post the service was activated among the highly engaged creators, the company said.

Bolo Indya claims the platform has over 65 lakh users including 28 lakh creators, spread across 14 languages.
