Mangaluru: Art exhibition by Santhosh Andrade to be held from Oct 31 - Nov 8

Media Release

Mangaluru, Oct 28: Art Kanara Trust in association with INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) Mangaluru chapter, will from October 31 to November 8 present an exhibition of paintings by the Mangaluru-based artist, Santhosh Andrade at Kodial Guthu Mane, Center for Media, Art & Design. Santhosh Andrade is an award-winning artist and the winner of this year’s ORA-Mojarto National Art Contest.

The exhibition will be formally inaugurated on Saturday October 31 at 5 pm in the honorable presence of Captain Ganesh Karnik, the former member of Karnataka Legislative Council and the state BJP spokesperson, Sabrina Hougaard, art patron and Sharath Punja, architect. The exhibition will remain open to viewers from 11 am to 7 pm till November 8.

The exhibition will showcase a broad range of recent works painted on canvas, terracotta and wood. The works draw inspiration from Indian folk and traditional arts, displaying the artist’s homage to small-town life and the inevitable growth of urbanization.

Andrade’s paintings seek to expose the hidden marvels of the everyday world. They invite you to take a trip with him into places that are all too familiar if you have ever been charmed by the small towns and semi urban spaces of coastal India. At the same time, they are not just a depiction of the countryside, but a snapshot of a moment in time that most of us tend to ignore, or that often gets lost in the speed of our fast-paced lives.

This exhibition is supported by S Cube Art Gallery.
