'Rahul Gandhi has no political stature, nobody takes him seriously' - Ravi Shankar Prasad

Daijiworld Media Network - Patna

Patna, Oct 28: Bihar Assembly elections are being held in three phases, with the first one concluding on October 28. The ruling National Democratic Alliance is working its best to wipe out the Opposition, with their prime target being Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday questioned Gandhi’s relevance in Indian politics and said that the latter does not possess a political stature anymore as nobody takes him seriously.

“Rahul Gandhi ki rajnitik aukat itni bhi nahi bachi hai, woh roz kuch na kuch ul jalool bolte hai. Nobody takes him seriously. He was the president of the Congress party. Is this how he should speak? This shows how desperate Congress is. When results will be out, you’ll see what is the condition of the party,” Prasad said during a press conference in Patna.

The retort by Ravi Shankar Prasad came following the comments made by Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday regarding the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi being burnt instead of Raavan’s on Dussehra in Valmiki Nagar.

The senior BJP leader further said that the Congress leader "spread lies about Rafale, demotivated India’s armed forces, and his quotes were used by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in the United Nations."

“If you watch Pakistan TV, Rahul Gandhi is visible a lot. This is his level,” the union minister said.

At the rally, the Congress MP from Kerala’s Wayanad hit had out at the PM Modi-led central government over the recently-introduced farm laws and said that effigies of industrialists and the Prime Minister were burnt instead of Raavan’s on Dussehra.

“It is sad, but it is happening, because farmers are upset, the youth are angry,” Rahul Gandhi had said.

To be a good politician no need to be a political stature required. What is necessary is honesty and compassion towards the public which we can see in Rahul Gandhi

Agreed, Whole of India has seen what Rahul is . Hence in 2019 he was booted out of his 100 year old family bastion and had to run down south Kerala and contest in a unheard safe constituency only to win on Muslim votes. Yes India has seen this.

To win election PM Modi also changed his constituency to VARANASI. Winning elections only, not decide the stature of a politician. These days very popular leaders also from other parties defeated due to polarization. Main thing is how you perform and how your country prosper economically and politically.

If Mr. Gandhi has no political stature, and people should not take him seriously, why is the minister taking him seriously? What is the need to comment on everything Mr. Gandhi says?

Fielding RaGa as the PM candidate or any leader for that matter at any level is playing into the hands of BJP. We saw this in 2014 and 2019 as well. No strategy of Cong or RaGa has changed, it will be the same results. Just some internet Karsevaks would be elated.
