Gujarat's corona tally at 1,71,040, death toll 3,708


Gandhinagar, Oct 30 (IANS): Gujarat on Thursday saw 987 new coronavirus cases, taking its tally to 1,71,040, while the death toll climbed to 3,708 with four more succumbing.

In October so far, the state has added 32,465 cases at an average of 1,119 cases daily.

A total of 1,083 patients were discharged, taking the total to 1,54,078, while there are 13,254 active cases, out of which 61 critical patients are on ventilator.

Surat led with 213 cases, Ahmedabad saw 171, Vadodara 117, Rajkot 96 and Gandhinagar 34.

Mehsana saw 33 cases, Jamnagar and Banaskantha 28 each, Narmada 27, Junagadh 23, Kutch and Patan 21 each, Sabarkantha 20, Bhavnagar and Surendranagar 18 each, Amreli and Gir-Somnath 15 each, Panchmahals 13, Kheda and Morbi 12 each, Aravalli 11, Anand nine, Bharuch seven, Devbhumi Dwarka six, Chotta Udepur four, Navsari, Tapi, and Dahod three each, Valsad and Navsari two each and Botad, Mahisagar and Porbandar one each.

Two deaths were reported from Surat and one each from Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

The total number of deaths in Ahmedabad have reached 1,895, while 845 have died in Surat, 208 in Vadodara, 160 in Rajkot, 91 in Gandhinagar, and 67 in Bhavnagar, among others.

Health authorities have conducted 59,50,616 RT-PCR tests, while 5,15,264 people are quarantined.
