Udupi, Oct 30: Paramapoojya Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Shripadaru of Shri Sode Vadiraja Math inaugurated the fourth IEEE international conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics - 2020 (IEEE DISCOVER 2020) organized by IEEE Mangaluru sub-section on October 29 at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal.
Shri Swamiji in his inaugural address said, "Necessity and urge toward excellence and passion toward finding the truth would result in quality research. Getting involved in quality research is very important at the same time; sharing the outcome of such research is also equally important. Conferences of this kind would enable knowledge sharing among the interested people,” Shri Swamiji also wished that the international conference being organized at SMVITM on its decennial year would ignite a new era of quality research at the institute.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr U C Niranjan shared a brief history of DISCOVER since the initial days of planning this conference structure as a bi-yearly event and how it has been providing a platform for knowledge sharing among knowledge seekers across the globe over the past four years.
Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, the principal of SMVITM, welcomed the gathering and sought the blessing of the Swamiji for the success of the conference in serving its motto of knowledge sharing.
The conference proceeding was released by Shri Rathnakumar during the inauguration. Dr Balachandra Achar, the chair programme committee of the conference gave an overview on the keynote addresses and sessions to be held for the next two days on October 30 and 31 as part of the conference.
Dr Ganesh Aithal, the vice-principal of the institute and also organizing chair of the conference proposed the vote of thanks. Sowmya S, assistant professor in the department of CSE compered the programme.
Members of the organizing committee of IEEE DISCOVER 2020; office bearers and members of the executive committee of IEEE Mangaluru sub-section; members of IEEE student branch at SMVITM; HoDs, faculty members and staff members of the college were present on the occasion.
