Bengaluru: Bail applications of Ragini, Sanjana - HC to pass order today

Bengaluru, Nov 3: Cine actresses Ragini and Sanjana, arrested for their alleged connections with the drugs racket have sought bail through applications filed in the state high court. The high court is expected to pass an order on Tuesday, November 3 afternoon.

A single judge bench of the high court headed by the Judge of the high court, Justice Srinivas Harishkumar, which heard these applications, had reserved orders in the case.

Advocate appearing for Sanjana claimed that the case was registered against his client even though there were no evidences against her. He claimed that the central crime branch police had not properly followed the rules and regulations of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. During check conducted at her house, no drugs were found, he said, and based on these points sought bail for hisclient.

Advocate for Ragini too said that she is innocent and there is no evidence against. He said that his client has been extending full cooperation to the investigation and therefore sought bail. Advocate for the CCB had opposed bail petition.

In The meantime, Kerala CPI(M) leader, Bineesh Kodiyeri who has been accused of extending financial support for drugs network and has been arrested by the enforcement directorate, was shifted to Bowring Hospital here on Sunday after he complained of backache. Bineesh had been arrested on October 28 for money trafficking and he had been handed over to the enforcement directorate by the court till November 2. It is learnt that as he did not cooperate with the investigation, he has been given to enforcement directorate custody till November 7.
