Sullia: Thodikana temple condemns obscene photoshoot at Devaragundi Falls

Sullia, Nov 3: A meeting was organized at Todikana temple on Monday November 2 to pass a resolution condemning the act of a Bengaluru-based team in conducting photoshoot in skimpy clothes at Devaragundi Falls near the temple which is linked to the temple recently. The video clip had been uploaded on social media later.

Office bearers of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad had complained that the team had meddled with the sanctity of the temple through the above act. In addition to Sullia police station, complaints were also made to Todikana temple. The tahsildar had advised the temple to hold a meeting of devotees on the issue, take a decision, and send a copy of the proceedings to him for taking legal action. On the basis of this assurance, the meeting was held.

After the meeting, it was decided that those who organized the photoshoot should tender an apology at the temple and offer special service in the temple by way of atonement. The meeting also discussed the practicability of making arrangements at the Falls to avoid repetition of such incidents.

Immediate president of the temple managing committee, Keshava Kolalumoole presided. Former president, Kishore Uluvaru explained the incident. Taluk panchayat president, Chaniya Kaltadka, vice president, Pushpa Medappa, and temple manager, Anand Kallagadde, were present at the dais.
