Puttur: Workers sift through garbage, return currency bundle to owner

Puttur, Nov 4: A bundle of currency notes had somehow got into the garbage bin and thereafter got disposed of with other garbage. After the person who lost the money conveyed information, the civic workers of the municipality here searched through the garbage dump at Bannur near here and found the currency bundle which was promptly returned to the true owner.

A patient was under treatment in private hospital here. A bundle of currency notes meant to be paid to the hospital by him had accidentally reached the waste basket. The money got mixed with other waste and reached the dumping yard through the civic workers.

The person realised that the bundle was missing when he wanted to pay the bill. He guessed that the bundle would have fallen into the garbage bin and contacted the civic workers of the municipality. Civic workers, Yamunappa and Saddam Hussain searched in the yard and found the missing money which was returned to the owner.

Gold ornaments

About a year ago, gold ornament had been recovered from the garbage dump by workers. When the workers disposed of the garbage from the city a year back, waste from the court road shops in the also was disposed in the yard. One of the shopkeepers found that the ornament had gone missing. After getting information from the shop, a search operation was launched and the ornament had been found.
