Udupi: Tulu Sahitya Academy to Organize 500th Anniversary of Krishna Devaraya's Coronation

Udupi, May 4:
Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy will hold the 500th anniversary of enthronement of Krishna Devaraya at Ravindra Mantap of MGM College, here from Wednesday May 19 to Thursday May 20.
 
The celebrations will be inaugurated on Wednesday May 19 at 10.30 am. Two seminars on Sri Krishna Devaraya will be held under the aegis of Dravidian University, Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh.
 
Multilinguist’s poetry session on Tulu folk arts will also be held on the occasion. Tulu Yakshagana play, Tulu drama, Tulu folk dance and singing will be held as part of the cultural programme.
 
A local committee to oversee the arrangements has been formed under the chairmanship of MLA K Raghupati Bhat. The programme will be held under the auspices of taluk Mahila Mandala Okkoota and Tulu Koota, stated a press release issued by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy.
