Tamil actor Vijay says he is not connected with father's party

Chennai, Nov 5 (IANS): Tamil movie actor Vijay on Thursday distanced himself from the political party floated by his father and movie director S.A. Chandrasekhar.

In a statement issued here Vijay said, "Today, I came to know through the media that my father, S. A. Chandrasekhar, has started a political party. I would like to express sincere condolences to my fans and the public that I have no direct or indirect connection with the party they started."

"By this, I mean that I will not be constrained by any actions that may take place in the future in connection with politics," he added.

Vijay urged his fans not to join or serve the party just because his father started.
