London, May 5 (IANS): Pop legend Sir Cliff Richard is set to launch his own brand of sparkling wine to mark his upcoming 70th birthday.
The singer, who will turn 70 Oct 14, owns a vineyard in Portugal's Algarve region called Adega do Cantor, which translates as "Winery of the Singer".
Richard already produces a number of different drinks at the state-of-the-art estate under his "Vida Nova" brand and is now creating his first wine to celebrate his landmark birthday.
"We were keen to extend the Vida Nova range to include a sparkling wine and decided to make the first vintage to mark Sir Cliff's 50 years in music and to celebrate his 70th birthday," contactmusic.com quoted a spokesperson for the star as saying.
"We are delighted with the first bottling and have already received a number of pre-orders from ardent Cliff fans," the spokesperson said.
