Bengaluru: Next CM controversy - two MLAs get KPCC notices

Bengaluru, Nov 7: Two legislators who issued for and against the controversial issue of the next chief minister of the state have got notices from Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).

The disciplinary committee of KPCC headed by former union minister, Rahaman Khan met on Thursday and decided to issue notices to MLAs, Zameer Ahmed Khan and Soumya Reddy. It was also decided to send a notice to former MP Prakash Hukkeri for having said that he would support deceased BJP MP and union minister Suresh Angadi's family if ticket for the parliamentary election is issued to them,.

The statements issued relating to the preferred future chief ministerial candidate of the party had raised a furore and given rise to misunderstandings within the party.

Chamarajpet MLA Zameer Ahed Khan had spoken in favour of Siddaramaiah as the next chief minister, while Jayanagar MLA Soumya Reddy had supported D K Shivakumar as the next chief minister. The disciplinary committee has issued show cause notices to both of them.
