Karkala, Nov 7: Karkala city police station personnel have registered a case against a two-wheeler rider, who was illegally carrying beef in his vehicle.
According to the details available, on Friday November 6 at 7 pm, Damodar K B, PSI, Karkala city police station and personnel were checking the vehicles near Banglegudde Junction of Kasaba village in the taluk. They noticed Mohammed Yasin, a two-wheeler rider riding his vehicle, bearing registration number KA 20 EV 6506, towards Nakre junction from Banglegudde without wearing a helmet.
When the police personnel asked the two-wheeler rider to stop the vehicle, he did not stop but rode the scooter for quite a distance. When the police personnel finally intercepted him, he escaped from the spot, leaving the scooter behind.
On checking the scooter, the police personnel found a white plastic which contained the head of a cow and also meat. It is learned that Mohammed Yasin and others were trying to sell this meat, which is stolen from somewhere.
A case under sl no 90/2020, column 4, 5, 11 of Karnataka anti-cow slaughter act and column 379 of IPC is registered in the Karkala city police station.
