Andhra CM congratulates Kamala Harris on victory


Amaravati, Nov 8 (IANS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday congratulated Kamala Harris on becoming the US Vice President-elect.

"Democrats or Republicans, politics apart, we are happy and proud to have in Kamala Harris, someone of Indian origin as the Vice President of America. Congratulations and best wishes. May God bless you and guide you," the Chief Minister tweeted.

Former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N. Chandrababu Naidu has congratulated Joe Biden on becoming the US President-elect.

"Heartiest congratulations to the President-Elect of the United States of America, Joe Biden on his decisive victory! Wishing you every success in office," tweeted Naidu

The leader of opposition also congratulated Harris, saying: "A woman can be anything she wants to be! Congratulations to Kamala Harris on becoming the first-ever woman Vice President-elect of the United States! Her historic achievement is a matter of great pride for Indian-Americans and for all of us," he said.

Meanwhile, Telangana's industry and information technology minister K.T. Rama Rao also congratulated Harris and Biden.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president was all praise for Harris for her message after the victory.

"What a message! Brilliantly articulated; bound to inspire lots of young women & people of colour to dream big Wholehearted congratulations to you Madam VP elect Kamala & President elect on a fabulous victory," he tweeted.

Rama Rao hoped that their victory leads to deeper and stronger India-US partnership
