Kasargod, Nov 11: In connection with the multi-crore jewellery deposit fraud, a team led by assistant superintendent of police Vivek Kumar, is questioning Manjeshwar MLA M C Qamaruddin who is said to be involved with the company.
First accused in the case T K Pookoya Tangal, who is the managing director of the company in which name the fraud was committed is absconding. His residence at Chandera here was searched by a police team. Tangal's son MP Hashim, who has been named as the third accused reportedly has fled to a foreign country. It is suspected that he would have escaped before the lookout notice in his name was issued. Preparations are now on to avail of the assistance of the Interpol to nab him.
In the meantime, four more complaints were filed against MLA, M C Qamaruddin, in Chandera police station. K N P Ramlat from Udinoor Muttomkadavu (one lac rupees), K P Ayeshabi from Padannakavundala (three lac rupees), M T P Kunhi Moideen (Rs 50 lac) and A J Shameem (Rs 11 lac) have filed these complaints.
