Mangaluru: Science/Commerce/Arts fests held at St Aloysius PU College

Mangaluru, Nov 13: St Aloysius PU College strives to achieve the overall development of the students by providing them a platform to showcase their talents. In order to inspire and encourage the students, the college organized a fest for Science and Commerce/Arts students separately, in the first week of November.

The events, ‘Scientific Flair- Science Fest 2020’ and ‘The Conquest 2020’- Commerce and Arts fest, were held from November 2 to 7, with each day celebrating the imagination, creativity and efforts of the students. Mind-boggling online competitions were organised as part of the fest, to test the students’ aptitude and bring out their hidden potential.

Commerce and Arts students displayed their talents in ‘The Conquest 2020’ through events such as the lone wolf- case study analysis, the Ace- marketing of the product, Paparazzi- the product photography, Thespian- representing a historical character of the world, Maestro- to showcase skills and Loquacious- a turncoat competition. These competitions were held to explore the students' creative and business sensibilities and also to provide a platform to exhibit textbook managerial practices in a more realistic and personal environment, thus strengthening and confirming their understanding of core concepts.



The science students also exhibited their scientific, creative and intellectual flairs through captivating competitions like Chemistry Cachet, Math Art, Inventions that inspired you, DIY-Strange Science, Science Superheroes, Circuit Designer, Graphpic and Unearth. The competitions were held in different Science subjects with a purpose to develop a scientific fervor and an attitude of research mindedness so that the students develop the qualities of analytical and critical thinking.

The events, ‘Scientific Flair- Science Fest 2020’ and ‘The Conquest 2020’- Commerce and Arts fest, helped around 400 students to display their creative and technical skills. These fests proved to be a great platform for students for the presentation of their talents. It boosted the confidence of the students and enhanced their personality.

The principal, Fr Clifford Sequeira SJ congratulated the staff and student coordinators for meticulously organising the event. He appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation and hoped that these events will help them develop their talents and skills.

The staff co-ordinators of 'Scientific Flair' and the 'Conquest 2020' were Nancy Dias, Fiona Moras, Shwetha Sadashiva, Chithravathi and Santhosh Kumar, Manessha, Chandrakala respectively.
