Bengaluru, Nov 14: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa inaugurated the 67th All India Cooperation Week organized by the State Cooperation Department at the Banquet Hall of Vidhana Soudha on Saturday.
The chief minister also presented the Sahakara Ratna Awards to select leading cooperators.
Cooperation minister S T Somashekar, revenue minister R Ashok, urban development minister Byrathi Basavaraj and BJP MLA S R Vishwanath participated in the programme.
Nehru’s 131st birth anniversary, Children’s Day
In the morning, chief minister B S Yeddiyurappa garlanded the image of India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s 131st birth anniversary.
The Chief Minister also extended his greetings to all children to mark the Children’s Day celebrations.
Urban development minister Byrathi Basavaraj and chief secretary T M Vijaya Bhaskar were present.
Karnataka Pradesh Congress committee president D K Shivakumar and former chief minister Siddaramaiah, the Congress opposition leader in the state assembly, along with other party leaders paid floral homage to India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru at a separate function held at the party office.
