Mangaluru, Nov 18: A two-day training for the teachers on the occasion of the inception of Vidya Bharathi modules was inaugurated at Shakthi campus on Tuesday November 18.
"Today’s scenario demands the role of a teacher as a facilitator. Earlier it was thought that the future of a citizen is shaped in classrooms, but now as per the expectations of the new education policy, a lot of scope is provided to deliver values in order to shape an individual through the teacher," said Vasanth Madhava, state secretary of Vidya Bharathi who was the inaugurator.
Vidya Bharati advocates 'Indianization, nationalization and spiritualization' of education. In the areas of study that are peripheral to the core curriculum, like physical education, music, cultural education, martial art and yoga, the institution works out its own curriculum.
G R Jagadish, the zonal joint secretory of Vidya Bharathi south mid-zone stated that the motto of Vidya Bharathi is 'Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye'- That Is Knowledge which Liberates, holds good in all areas. The new education policy will provide a platform to go the extra mile to gain hands on the topic of the students choice. The journey from simple to complex is advisable.
The day begins with a prayer and this institution is the first to keep prayer ready much before the inauguration. It is very important to know the meaning of the Saraswathi Vandana, where every word has an important meaning and is applicable to our day to day transaction and transformation.
The district secretary, Lokkayya was also present on the occasion. The administrator of Shakthi Group of Institutions, Dr K C Naik shared his views on the inception of the Vidhya Bharathi and stressed on the significance of learning Sanskrit. He also expressed his urge and preparedness to implement the new education policy with immediate effect.
Ramesh K, the chief advisor, Sudheer M K principal-in-charge of Shakthi PU College, Vidya Kamath principal of Shakthi Residential School, Neema Saxena co-ordinator of Shree Gopalkrishna Pre-School were present along with all the other teaching and non-teaching staff.
Sharanappa, welcomed the gathering. Rekha D'Costa proposed the vote of thanks. Akshatha M G compered the programme and Bhavyashri introduced the key speaker.
