Mangaluru: Seminar on 'Relation Between Yakshagana & Beary' inaugurated at Tulu Bhavana

Mangaluru, Nov 20: President of Tulu Sahitya Academy, Dayanand Kattalsar inaugurated a seminar on 'Relation Between Yakshagana and Beary' here at Tulu Bhavana on Friday, November 20.

The program was jointly organised by Tulu Sahitya Academy and Beary Sahitya Academy.

Addressing the gathering, Dayanand Kattalsar said, "This program will help to strengthen the bond between the Tulu and Beary language. The contribution by Bappa Beary to the field of literature has been enormous."

The president of Beary Sahitya Academy, Raheem Ucchil said, "Beary Academy is putting constant efforts to preserve the Beary language, the culture and literature. The Academy has provided financial support to its artist and writers and by providing food kits during the lockdown. We have unveiled the Beary alphabets and a dictionary for the language will be released soon."

Yakshagana artist Jabbar Sumo was felicitated in the event.

Registrar of Beary Academy, Poornima welcomed the gathering, while member Shamsheer Budoli compered the event.

Writer Abdul Rehman Kutthethur, member of the Academy Surekha, Chanchalakshi, Chetak Poojary and others were present.
