Gandhinagar police holds flag march in the city for Corona

Gandhinagar, Nov 20 (IANS): Gandhinagar police held a flag march on Friday to sensitise the public about the current threat of Covid-19 and encourage them to follow the guidelines.

Personnel from 11 police stations toured the areas having maximum commuting.

"We are holding this flag march to create an awareness regarding the Corona pandemic and to make an appeal to the public to follow Covid-19 guidelines," said Deputy SP Gandhinagar police M.K. Rana.

Gandhinagar, the state capital, reported 80 Covid cases on Thursday.

During the flag march, the police made an appeal to the public to maintain social distancing and avoid gathering at places like vegetable markets, shopping centres, malls, cinema and theatres, gardens, hotels and restaurants, tea stalls and paan shops.

"We request the people not to come outside their homes without any reason. We also request the senior citizens, children below 10 years of age and sick people to stay indoors," said Rana.
