Bajrang Dal up in arms over web series

Lucknow, Nov 27 (IANS): Bajrang Dal activists are up in arms over the content being shown on the OTT platform.

The Bajrang Dal, with other Hindu outfits, is planning to launch a campaign against web series for encouraging vulgarity and showing an 'incorrect picture of Indian culture globally'.

Scores of activists from International Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, holding placards and banners, staged a demonstration in Kanpur on Thursday.

The activists stated that streaming platforms should be more of pro-and, not anti-Indian culture.

City vice-president Bajrang Dal, Ajay Mishra asked authorities to respond soon and ban the airing of the web-series as it allegedly maligns the image and reputation of the country.

"The worst affected in the ongoing time of pandemic are school children, who are in possession of android phones for online classes, but during their leisure hours, they easily have access to cheap web series, which are poisoning their young minds," he said.

Mishra claimed that in the web series, scripts are cheap, actors are indulging in vulgarity and encourage the use of abusive language.

"We have also sent a letter to chief minister Yogi Adityanath in this regard, seek his intervention in the matter," he stated.

Why do people desecrate sacred places and blaspheme the sacred scriptures? People. please don't do that. What will you people gain. Last year it was "Alleluia" row. This is year it is Temple kissing scene.

How long will this go on... this cheap street-side attitude? Any religion be it have respect for the religious values. By indulging in all this cheap tactics we are taking our country back to the stone age. Religious places and doctrines deserve their due respect.

Well what has happened in OTT is objectionable. I agree.

But are these bunch of ...... taking a protest or having a Street Pageant? To me it certainly looks like the latter the way some guy is posing for a selfie and some more in a dance posture with laughter lines etching their faces. If this is a protest march then there should be expressions of anger on their faces. But.... they are UP guys after all.

Anyways, I am coming up with a nice idea for BJP Party Anthem...

Apne Bakthon ke dil ka karar lootne
Hum toh aaye hain UP Bihar lootne
