MANGALORE, May 18 (The Hindu): A torch that lasts for 500 hours is among a wide range of products from antiques to pickles that are on display at the air-conditioned consumer exhibition that opened recently at the Karavali Exhibition Grounds here. It is on till May 23.

The 128 stalls have been occupied by exhibitors from all over the country, including over 80 local players. ‘Gruhashobhe' offers a variety of goods in one place. One banner advertised a torch that lasts for 500 hours. The seller from Delhi explained, “These torches are made with LED (light emitting diode) bulbs, which consume very little power. There is nothing special about the battery. It is an ordinary one.”

The fair seems to have something for everybody, including special products for women and children. Some stalls offer on-the-spot demonstration of cosmetics. The fair is open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.
