Udupi: DC enforces Election Code of Conduct until December 31

Udupi, Nov 30: Deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha speaking at the press meet organized at Udupi zilla panchayat hall Manipal here on Monday, November 30, said that the Election Code of Conduct is enforced from Monday and it will be there till December 31, 2020.

"The election will be held in total 154 grama panchayats in the district. The election will be held two phases for seven taluk panchayats. The first phase election will be held in 16 panchayats in Udupi, nine panchayats in Hebri, 27 panchayats in Brahmavar , 15 panchayats in Byndoor. The second phase election will be held in 44 panchayats in Kundapur, 27 panchayats of Karkala and 16 panchayats of Kaup taluk. A total of 87 gram panchayats," he said.

The total original polling booths are 890, auxiliary booths are 282, and the total polling booths are 1172. The total number of female voters are 4,12,887 and male voters are 3,82,785 and 9 are others. The total 7,95,681 voters will be casting their vote.

He further said that the district administration in Udupi has made all necessary preparations in all the booths. Voters list is also ready. "We will appoint officials to monitor strict implementation of Election Code of conduct in the district," he said.
