Mangalore: CM to Participate in Veerarani Abbakka Utsav

Mangalore, May 19: MLA and honorary president of Veerarani Abbakka Utsav Reception Committee, U T Khader, said in a press conference held here on Tuesday May 18 that the state Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa, will be taking part in the Veerarani Abbakka Utsav being held in memory of the legendary queen of Ullal on May 22 and 23.

“The festival, which will begin with a folklore rally, will be inaugurated by former minister and litterateur, Dr B T Lalita Nayak. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will preside,” he added.

He explained that Rajya Sabha member, Oscar Fernandes, will inaugurate the cultural programmes. “Writer, Vydehi, will initiate various sessions being organized. Zilla panchayat president, Santosh Kumar Bhandary, city mayor, Rajani Dugganna, MLA N Yogish Bhat, K Vasant Bangera, Capt Ganesh Karnik and Manjeshwar MLA, Kunhambu, will participate as the chief guests. Dr Vaman Nadavar will deliver an address in commemoration of former MLA, B M Idinabba,” he said.

Utsav Reception Committee president, K Jayaram Shetty, working president, Dinakar Ullal, Tulu Sahitya Academy registrar, Chandrahas Rai, Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli, Sadand Bangera, Anand K Asaigoli and Harekala Lakshminarayan Rai were present at the press conference.

A HISTORIC DECISION TO BE TAKEN TO FORM A SEPERATE STATE OF "TULUNADU" COMPRISING 3 DISTRICTS OF DK,UDUPI & KASARAGOD IN ORDER TO OVERCOME THE DIFFICULTIES OF TRAVELLING OF ABOUT 800 KM TO & FRO TO COUNT THE PILLERS OF VIDHANA SOUDHA, HIGH COURT ETC.
