Udupi, Dec 1: A crime control week and renovated service bus stand police post were inaugurated by the Rotary Club here. Additional SP, Kumar Chandra inaugurated the renovated traffic police post.
He said that the safety of the people and control of traffic are the two most important works of the police department. “The structure of the police outpost was weak. We thank the Rotary Club for renovating it. There is no work that is not done by the police force. Their duties cannot be performed by others. There are allegations against them even after doing so much work. People look at the police differently. It may be due to the influence of films. People should join hands with them to make crime control week a success,” he said.
Handbills and banners on control of crimes were released on the occasion. The Rotary Club distributed masks to the police personnel.
Dy SP Jaishanker, traffic SI, Abdul Khader, town SI Manjunath, PSI Vignesh, Rotary Club Udupi president, Radhika Laxminarayana, secretary, Deepa Bhandary, project secretary, Dr Suresh Shenoy, district editor, K S Basri and others were present.
