Udupi, Dec 1: Protests were held here under the leadership of CITU, Karnataka Pranta Krishi Coolikarara Sangha and Akhila Bharatha Kisan Sangha condemning the attacks by the Modi government on protesters in Delhi opposing farm bills.
CITU district chief secretary, Suresh Kallagara said that selling the wealth of the country to big capitalists has become patriotism to BJP. “It is likely to bring a huge risk to farmers and labourers. Such nationalism of BJP cannot be agreed upon. Small industries are destroyed. GDP is collapsing due to unemployment. The income of people has stopped. The amendments to farm bills will bring more troubles to people. Farmers in Delhi are campaigning against them. The government should withdraw cases registered against the protesters. The pro-corporate policy should be withdrawn.”
A memorandum was submitted to the prime minister through the deputy commissioner. CITU leaders K Shanker, H Narasimha, Shashidhar Golla, Mahabalavadera Hobali, Balkis and others were present.
