Drunk Woman Driver Kills Two, to Get Bail


New Delhi, May 23 (IANS) A 30-year-old woman, who while driving in an inebriated state rammed her car into an autorickshaw killing two people at Gopinath Bazar in Delhi Cantonment area, was arrested but will be out on bail soon, police said Sunday.

"She is charged with causing death due to rash and negligent driving which is a bailable offence," a police officer told IANS.

"The incident happened at around 11.30 p.m Saturday. The woman, Nivedita Singh, who was in an intoxicated state, was driving a Honda City car. She rammed into an auto, killing the driver and one of the three passengers," he said.

The two killed in the accident have been identified as auto driver Raj Kumar, a resident of Uttam Nagar and Ved Prakash, a resident of Palam.

"We have done their post mortem, the report is awaited. Their families have taken the bodies," he said.

The injured -- Jeet Singh, a resident of Khanpur and Megh Singh of Alwar in Rajasthan -- have been admitted to a hospital.

    If the man can drink why not woman? If the drunken man can get bail why not the drunken woman???? Is there any seperate law for man and woman in India?????
