Recoveries outnumber new Covid cases in J&K


Jammu, Dec 7 (IANS): Recoveries outnumbered fresh Covid cases in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday as the Union Territory reported 280 new cases while 386 people were discharged after recovery from different hospitals.

An official bulletin said that 386 patients recovered from the disease on Monday while 280 people tested positive -- 166 in Jammu division and 114 in Kashmir division.

So far, 1,13,586 people have been infected by coronavirus in J&K, out of which 106,758 have recovered.

Nine more people succumbed to the virus on Monday, taking the UT's Covid death toll to 1,755.

The number of active cases in the UT presently stands at 5,055, of which 2,490 are from Jammu division and 2,565 from Kashmir division.
