Nadda to meet state BJP leaders during two-day Bengal visit

Kolkata, Dec 9 (IANS): BJP national President Jagat Prakash Nadda will begin his two-day visit to West Bengal on Wednesday to meet state leaders and review party activities ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections.

The BJP chief will inaugurate nine party offices and participate in a community outreach programme on the BJP's mission of 'Ar Noi Anyay' in West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's Assembly constituency Bhabanipur on Wednesday.

Nadda will also pray at the famous Kalighat Kali Temple here and interact with members of a slum community.

The BJP chief will participate in various programmes targeted at strengthening the party base as well as booth-level organisations.

BJP sources said that Nadda was slated to land at Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International airport in the afternoon. Arrangements have been made at the airport with 'dhakis' (Bengal's improvised drums) to give a grand welcome to the BJP chief.

"Nadda will inaugurate the party's West Bengal election office at Hastings at 1 pm. After that he will virtually inaugurate party offices in nine districts," a party statement said.

On Thursday, Nadda is scheduled to address a meeting of BJP party cadres in South 24-Paraganas' Radio Station ground at Diamond Harbour. He will also offer prayers at the Ramakrishna Ashram, the sources said.
