London, May 25 (IANS): Supermodel Kate Moss suffered a heavy monetary loss after her home flooded with sewer water, causing damage worth $144 670.
The 36-year-old had recently repainted some walls in her north London property with Farrow and Ball paint at great expense. Moss was in sheer pain when she found her home 18 inches deep in putrid water over the weekend after a pump in her basement burst causing a heavy damage, reports contactmusic.com
"Trouble started following heavy rains at the beginning of May and culminated in her basement flooding and the pump system clogging up. Kate is absolutely devastated. Her house is a complete disaster zone, with mud and sewage everywhere," said a source.
Her kitchen, sitting room and outside decking have all been ruined, as well as much of her furniture and a number of items of clothing.
The supermodel who is now reportedly staying with her friends may move to the Dorchester Hotel in Mayfair if repairs at her property cannot be completed soon.
Moss seems to have stuck by a series of unfortunate events as last week her house was burgled and thefts took a Banksy painting worth $115,328 as well as two other precious art works.
