Ahmedabad to host 7 India-England matches in Feb-Mar

New Delhi, Dec 10 (IANS): England will play 12 international games -- four Tests, three ODIs, and five T20s -- on their tour of India in February-March, with Ahmedabad hosting seven of those matches, including a day-night Test. All the matches will be played at only three venues -- Chennai and Pune being the others -- and in bio-secure environment, it was announced on Thursday.

Ahmedabad's refurbished Sardar Patel Motera Stadium, which can accommodate 1,10,000 spectators, will host two Tests and all five T20 Internationals, according to the itinerary jointly released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

England will play four Tests, five T20Is and three ODIs from February 9 to March 28.
