Bengaluru, Dec 11: Riaz Ahmed Sayeed from Bhatkal, who is in judicial custody on the allegation of his participation in terrorist activities, withdrew the bail application he had moved in the high court.
The criminal appeal filed by Riaz seeking bail came up for consideration on Thursday December 10 before a divison bench of the high court chaired by the chief Justice A S Oka. The bench told the advoacte that the petition is not fit for being heard. The advocate for petitioner said that he will move bail application through the special court and sought permission to withraw the current appciation. The bench upheld his request and allowed withdrawal of the bail application.
Riaz Ahmed Sayeed from Bhatkal and another had been arrested by the central crime branch police on January 8, 2015 from the railway station here. On the basis of the statements of the accused, explosives were recovered from his Bhatkal home. Even the National Investigation Agency had begun a probe. After his earlier bail applications had been rejected, Riaz had moved criminal appeal on technical grounds, but it also stands withdrawn.
