Mangaluru: E-CON API DK-2020 for post graduates, physicians inaugurated

Mangaluru, Dec 12: E-CON API DK-2020 state level E-Conference for postgraduates and physicians hosted by API DK Chapter in association with the department of Medicine and Rajiv Gandhi university of Health Sciences, Bengaluru was inaugurated on December 12 by the vice-chancellor of RGUHS, Dr S Sacchidanand.

Delivering his inaugural address, he emphasised 'Knowledge is light' and the importance of presenting research material in post-graduate Medical Education through online forums like e- conferences. He congratulated API DK Chapter and the Department of Medicine, FMMC for taking such initiatives which are the first of their kind and are a model for others to follow. He also said that as RGUHS is celebrating its silver jubilee, students and post-graduates must gain maximum benefits through such learning activities.

Fr Ajith Menezes, the administrator of FMMC spoke on the importance of using technology in the covid era.



Dr J P Alva, the dean of FMMC stressed on the need for such educational programmes for post-graduates especially during the covid pandemic. The e-conference of API DK Chapter is a part of the celebration of Physicians Day 2020.

The conference is registered by more than 300 delegates, not only from Karnataka, but also from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Goa, Odisha and Bihar. More than 150 scientific papers will be presented. The best research paper will be awarded.

Dr Venkatesha B M, president of API DK Chapter and organising chairman welcomed the gathering.

Dr Archana Bhat, the organising secretary E-Con API DK -2020 and secretary of API DK chapter proposed the vote of thanks.
