Punjab DIG, facing graft charges, resigns to support farmers


Chandigarh, Dec 13 (IANS): Punjab's Deputy Inspector General (Jails) Lakhwinder Singh Jakhar, currently under suspension on graft charges, on Sunday submitted his resignation in protest against the contentious farm laws.

He said he would join the farmers' protest.

Jakhar was suspended in May for allegedly taking monthly bribe from jail officials.
