Mangaluru, Dec 14: One of the accused arrested in connection with anti-national slogans found on two walls in the city, Mohammed Shaarik was taken to a neighbouring district on Saturday by the investigating team. They took him to different places and conducted the inquest. The team stayed put there overnight and took up the task again on Sunday.

It is gathered that in the meanwhile, the central intelligence has been keeping abreast of the developments.

Sadat remained in police custody awaiting corona test report. The report is likely to reach the police on Monday after which he will be produced in the court. The police plan to seek his custody.

The police have accessed several books, videos, and documents which have made them believe that Shaarik would have been inspired or encouraged to indulge in this task. If serious pieces of evidence are available, the case may be referred to the National Investigation Agency for further investigation, it is said.

A police team from here left to another state in search of another accused involved with this case. Once he is arrested, the police hope to gather more information.

One of the accused reportedly has erased the records on his mobile phone. His mobile phone has been sent to forensic science laboratory and the erased records may be retrieved by the officials.
