Udupi, Dec 15: Corruption-free Bairampalli gram panchayat and its all-round development are our intentions. We have begun our campaign selecting 13 candidates with a standing committee of 200 people and a core committee of ten people. Therefore, VHP Mangaluru division secretary, Sharan Pumpwell has made me free from the responsibility of VHP, said VHP Udupi district former vice-president, proposed candidate Santhosh Kumar Bairampalli.
Speaking in a press conference held at Udupi press club on Tuesday, he said that he had given priority for unity when he was VHP vice-president and began six VHP units in Bairampalli village, Shirur village and Bellarapadi village.
BJP has had the upper hand in Bairampalli gram panchayat since the last thirty years. Gram panchayat elections are based on individuals. But some youth in Bairampalli have united to break the organization due to fear that the fort of corruption is breaking. They have used party leaders and expelled me.
The team of youth has decided to start Niyukthi Foundation Trust to help the elderly and the mentally weak, he said.
Sukesh, Shilpa, Rathnavati, Pavitra Poojary, Prashanth Hegde and others were present.
