Former MLA's son gunned down in Bihar


Patna, Dec 17 (IANS): Unidentified attackers have gunned down the son of a former Janata Dal (United) MLA in Bihar's Chapra, police said on Thursday.

The deceased, identified as Prince Kumar Rai, was a son of former MLA late Ram Pravesh Rai.

Prince Rai had a tyre shop located in the Bhagwan Bazaar area near the residence of the district councillor president. The police said Prince was on the way to his shop on Wednesday night when some unidentified men intercepted him and shot him thrice.

"The incident appeared at 10 p.m. on Wednesday night when he was returning home from his shop.

"The investigation is on and we are trying to crack this case. The reason of the murder is yet to be ascertained," said Ramesh Kumar Yadav, Station House Officer (SHO), Bhagwanpur police station.

"We have taken the statement of the victim's family and further investigation is on," Yadav said.
