Udupi, Dec 17: The mortal remains of Sudhir Mulki (30), one of the 28 fishermen who had gone fishing in Malpe fisheries port on December 13 was found floating under mysterious circumstances in the T deck lake of Malpe port on December 16.
Mohammed Ali (42), resident of Kodavoor village, Udupi who lodged a police complaint at Malpe police station in this connection, runs IND-KA-02-MM-218 Jayalaxmi boat in a partnership. Ashok Suvarna who is chief sailor in the boat had gone fishing in the boat along with 28 other men including Ganesh, Sudhir and Narayan on December 13. On their return after fishing on December 14, they unloaded the fish at the deck, anchored and tied the boat.
Meanwhile, Pavan Mulki, one of the fishermen informed Mohammed Ali on December 16 at 1 pm over the phone that the dead body of Sudhir Mulki is found floating in the lake of T deck of Malpe fishing port. Mohammed Ali and partners who visited the deck and found the body assume that Sudhir who was in the boat fell into the water while walking to the deck from the boat or some other cause between 10 am on December 15 and December 16 and died.
A police case under serial no 60/2020 under CRPC section 174 is registered at Malpe police station in this connection.
