BJP to defend farm laws strongly, will mobilize farmers' support

New Delhi, Dec 17 (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday, in a high-level meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the party headquarters, has decided to defend the three farm laws strongly through an information campaign and mobilize farmers' support over it.

It was decided that a campaign should be run to counter the disinformation being spread on the farm laws by the opposition parties and some organisations.

In the campaign, party workers and leaders will explain the benefits of the farm laws to the farmers. When farmers are told the reality about the farm laws, their misconceptions will be addressed.

The meeting started at 3.30 p.m. in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal, other top leaders and party office bearers.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar shared the issues raised by the farmers' organisations during the five rounds of talks held with the government, various aspects of farmers' protest and the challenges posed by the some farmers' organisation in resolving the issues.

Sources told IANS, "The party will consider the amendments suggested by the farmers' organisations but the laws will not be repealed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants that an information campaign be initiated to give detailed information about the farm laws to the farmers as well as general public."

It was also discussed in the meeting that some farmers' organisations have supported the laws and if they are given right information about the laws more organisations will support them.

A senior BJP leader said, "Many farmers' organisation have welcomed the new agricultural reforms. The party feels that misinformation about the laws should be countered strongly. We will reach out to the farmers and inform them that the purchase on MSP has increased. Procurement centres have been increased. For the last six years, we have sent double the amount in the accounts of farmers through MSP. Rs 6,000 per year is also been given under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. An agricultural infrastructure fund of Rs 1 lakh crore has also been created."

This BJP Govt has been passing a lot of Anti Peoples Laws taking advantage of the Pandemic.

These three Farm Laws were passed even without a debate nor was opinion taken from all the stake holders. There was even no discussions in Parlament and finally the farm bills were passed with a voice vote in the Rajya Sabha in a most deceitful manner throwing all democratic norms to the winds. A lesson and an eye openor to all Indians of the Autocratic and Arrogant manner in which a Single Party will trample on the rights of its citizens to please a few Crony Capitalists.

The BJP Govt has made a mockery of Parlamentary Democracy by passing these Farm Bills without a discussion in the house or taken any of the stake holders into confidence.

The BJP is only trying to Defend the Indefensible.

What a low level joke. BJP is completely exposed here.
FYI, you don’t explain and clear misunderstanding after passing the law. You do it before passing the bill and law by discussing, debating by taking all parties concerned, farmer unions, opposition and your own allies into confidence. If you still insist on clearing misunderstanding then repeal all 3 laws then call all parties concerned explain, clear misunderstanding and then take consensus then take next step accordingly. This is the constitutional way of doing business. Your way of business is pass MA by failing BA.
Now you don’t spread misunderstanding by your few hired, fake farmers who dance to your tune from BJP ruled states and then report SC to pass its verdict.
