Bantwal, Dec 18: “I have directed the Bantwal taluk administration to dispose of files quickly without adopting slow tactics,” said Upa lokayukta Justice B S Patil. He was speaking to reporters after visiting BC Road Bantwal taluk office and inspecting the files on Thursday, December 17.
“I have directed the officials to dispose of files that are pending for several years due to various reasons and submit a report once every 15 days. Lokayukta inspector and tahsildar should conduct joint investigations about the illegal acquisition of government land and illegal quarries. I have asked the tahsildar to provide details of files that have remained without disposal,” he said.
He said that he is on a three-day-long tour in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district and that he has already inspected files in Beltangady and Bantwal taluk offices.
He was accompanied by Lokayukta SP Kumaraswamy, DySP Vijayaprakash, Lokayukta inspector Amanullah Khan, Mangaluru assistant commissioner Madan Mohan, Bantwal tahsildar Rashmi and others.
