Cold wave in Raj: Mt Abu minus 2.5, Churu beyond 0


Jaipur, Dec 18 (IANS): The cold wave has intensified in Rajasthan with temperature dipping in many parts of the state. Churu remained frozen in the night recording a minus 0.3 degree Celsius.

As per the MET officials, nine districts of the state will be in the grip of a cold wave till Sunday, including Shri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Churu, Alwar, Bharatpur, Sikar and Jhunjhunu.

The mercury has dipped further in Mt Abu recording minus 2.5 degrees Celsius after Thursday's sub-zero temperatures. Sikar was at 1 degree Celsius.

Many other districts of the state registered a temperature of under five degrees Celsius. Pilani recorded 1.5 degrees Celsius, Bhilwara 2.1 and Vanasthali 2.7.
