Kerala Police takes suo moto action after actor's Insta outpouring


Kochi, Dec 18 (IANS): The Kerala Police on Friday took suo moto cognizance of a popular actress's outpouring in her Instagram account where she wrote about being harassed by two men when she and her family visited a premier shopping mall.

The actress, however, is yet to give an official complaint but the Kochi police decided to take up the case based on her statement in her Instagram account.

She said she was caught off guard and, hence could not react instantly against the men's inappropriate action.

She wrote in her Insta account, "Two men passed by me in a less crowded place in the mall, and one of them not so accidentally grazed his hand on my back."

Following the media taking up the matter, the police and also the Kerala State Women's Commission decided to take up the case suo moto.

The police are understood to have collected the visuals and are now closing in on the two men, as every person who enters the mall is required to register his or her contact number.
