Chennai, Dec 19 (IANS): Effectively controlling the spread of coronavirus, augmenting drinking water supply and efficient water management, implementing various welfare measures, attracting fresh industrial investments, making the state surplus in power supply and providing a stable government are some of the achievements of the AIADMK government, said Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K.Palaniswami on Saturday.

"I had never thought of becoming a Chief Minister. The opportunity was given by the God. This is an opportunity to serve the people," Palaniswami also said.

As announced earlier, Palaniswami hit the 2021 assembly poll campaign trail from his Edappadi assembly constitutency after offering prayers at the Chenraya Perumal Temple in Periyasoragai in Salem district.

With DMK leader and Lok Sabha member Kanimozhi beginning the assembly poll campaign from Edapaddi constituency some days back, Palaniswami said party members wanted him to begin his campaign from his constituency.

He said Edappadi assembly constituency is AIADMK's iron fortress and it is the only constituency that DMK has not able to win even once during the past 43 years.

Listing out various achievements of his government, Palaniswami said not only Kanimozhi, even if all the DMK leaders campaign, AIADMK cannot be felled.

Palaniswami pointed out that the AIADMK has ruled the state for 36 long years, the only party to have ruled for a such a long period.

The AIADMK party and its allies will win majority of the seats in the 2021 polls and form the government while appealing to the voters to vote for the two leaves symbol.
