Recoveries continue to outnumber new cases in J&K


Jammu, Dec 19 (IANS): Recoveries outnumbered new Covid cases in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday where 465 patients were discharged after recovery while 301 new cases came to light during the last 24 hours.

An official bulletin said that 465 patients were discharged from different hospitals after recovery, while 301 tested positive, 165 in Jammu division and 136 in Kashmir division.

So far, 118,006 people have been infected with coronavirus in J&K, out of which 112,093 have recovered. The death toll mounted to 837 with 4 more patients succumbing to the disease on Saturday. Of these, 672 patients have died in Jammu division and 1,165 have died in Kashmir division.

The number of active cases in J&K presently stands at 4,076, of which 1,915 are in Jammu division and 2,161 in Kashmir division.
