Mangaluru, Dec 22: State president of DYFI Munir Katipalla on Tuesday December 22 alleged that people in Jokatte are facing health complications due to pollution from coke and sulphur factory units.
In his statement to the media, Munir said, "Though we have been fighting against pollution caused by coke and sulphur units for the past seven years, the company has failed to implement 7 steps suggested by the government effectively. Though the government had been notified to implement the steps four years ago. The company, without implementing the seventh step of creating a green belt between its units and residential areas, are playing with the lives of residents.
