One held for snatching car at gunpoint in Gurugram


Gurugram, Dec 22 (IANS): The Gurugram police have arrested a man for allegedly snatching a Hyundai Creta car from a contractor at gunpoint near Dhankot village here.

The accused identified as Lokesh Sehrawat, was produced in a court on Tuesday which sent him on a police remand.

However, another accused in this case is yet to be arrested, police said.

The incident took place at around 8.15 p.m. on Sunday when Naveen Kumar had parked his car along the roadside. Two men then reached there and snatched his vehicle at gunpoint, later fleeing the spot.

"Acting on a tip-off the accused was arrested from his village and the vehicle was also recovered from his possession. Hunts are on to nab the co-accused," said Subhash Boken spokesperson of the Gurugram police.
