Udupi: Government school participates in election, wins hearts

Udupi, Dec 23: While the other schools attracted some attention because they were converted into polling booths for the gram panchayat election, here is a government school which drew appreciation for a different reason. The beautiful environment and surroundings of the Karnataka Public School at Hiriadka Bomarabettu which officiated as a polling booth bowled over the hearts of many officials and voters.

The school has a beautiful garden, park, and tastefully made artefacts. Deputy commissioner of the district G Jagadeesha, and superintendent of police Vishnuvardhan, expressed their appreciation for the efforts made by art teacher of the school Mohan Kadaba, and got a few photographs of themselves clicked in the beautiful surroundings.

The voters who had not seen the school so far too were enamoured by the beauty of the school surroundings. It may be mentioned that retired chief election commissioner of India, the late T N Seshan, had participated in the golden jubilee year celebrations of this school.
