Suresh Mohapatra appointed Odisha Chief Secretary


Bhubaneswar, Dec 25 (IANS): The Odisha government on Friday appointed senior IAS officer Suresh Chandra Mohapatra as Chief Secretary and Chief Development Commissioner.

Currently, Mohapatra is serving as Development Commissioner.

Mohapatra replaces Asit Kumar Tripathy as Chief Secretary.

Tripathy has been appointed as chairman of Western Odisha Development Council, said a communique from the Chief Minister's Office.

Tripathy retires on December 31.

He will also be the principal advisor to the Chief Minister on regional development, tourism, agri-business and industry, said the CMO.

Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena has been posted as development commissioner.
