Mangaluru, Dec 25: Soaking in the spirit of the season, St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, organized a wishful Christmas celebration for all its staff members on December 23. As a testimony to the spirit of caring and sharing, all staff members of SJEC got together with great splendour and enthusiasm on this occasion.
The program began with invoking the blessings of the divine. While a group ofstaff members of the college danced to the tunes with their enchanting rhythmic steps another group melodiously sang the Christmas carols, spreading the fragrance of Christmas season. Representing the entire SJEC family, Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, director of SJEC, Fr Rohith D’Costa and Fr Alwyn Richard D’Souza, assistant directors of SJEC, Dr Rio D’Souza, principal of SJEC and Rakesh Thomas Lobo, HR manager of SJEC, came together to cut the Christmas cake.
In his Christmas message, Dr Rio D’Souza invited everyone to spread love, peace, joy and imbibe the true spirit of Christmas namely, loving, sharing, caring and giving. He called upon all staff members to be contributors to the college in a variety of ways which would, in turn, propel the college to achieve its motto of service and excellence.
Fr Alwyn D’Souza, in his Christmas message, spoke about the importance of being human, more than anything else. He urged all staff members to inculcate great human values which would rub off on the students who study and graduate out of the institution. While giving away the compliments of the season, he wished everyone health and prosperity.
All staff members of the college got actively involved with all the festivities, games, acts, dance and carols during this blissful celebration.
St Joseph Engineering College wishes everyone a Merry Christmas filled with light, love and laughter and a New Year packed with hope, happiness, peace and good health.
