Mangalore, Jun 6: The special squad of superintendent of police from Dakshina Kannada district has arrested four persons trying to circulate fake currencies in the city and have seized fake notes worth Rs 1.7 lac.
The police findings reveal that the arrested are basically from West Bengal. Mohammad Muktar Shiek (32), Sharikul (20), Abdul Kalik (20) and Abdul Sherif (19), all belong to Malda, West Bengal.
The police squad under the leadership of sub-inspector K Prakash arrested the four lawbreakers from a hotel room in the city.
The police have also seized Rs 20,000 original currencies. For further investigation the squad has gone to West Bengal.
